Project Officers
Project Officer Selection Criteria
Candidates for Project Officer positions are recruited throughout the year after an above-average degree from major universities or business schools. Experience has shown that degrees in business administration or economics are most relevant to the task structure.
We expect new Project Officers to serve as full team members from the beginning. We search for self-motivated people who dedicate themselves to the success of our teams in the field.
As a young and growing firm we are looking for ambitious Project Officers who possess the following qualities to become successful:
- Sharp and mentally quick
- Outstanding analytical and conceptual skills to structure complex consulting assignments
- Inter-personal skills
- Creativity: ability to produce imaginative solutions
- High energy level
- Excellent command of English and possibly another language such as French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish. German is an advantage.
- Excellent report preparation (graphics) and writing skills in English and / or French
- Know-how in project management tools and techniques
Career Development
- The typical entry position for university graduates is as a Junior Project Officer based in Berlin. After 1-2 years of backstopping and previous experience the Project Officer may choose to join one of the teams „in the field“ or pursue his or her career in project management and monitoring from our Berlin office.
- In the beginning of their career we do not specialise consultants by industry or function. We believe that the best training comes from professional interaction within the case teams, which consultants join as full-time members immediately upon hiring.
- Increasing project and client responsibility comes with seniority and performance. Given our present corporate expansion, personal growth can of course be very high but primarily depends on the consultant's motivation
- We do not have a "free-market" system within the firm but rather assign consultants to permanent teams. This is done in order to maximise the professional experience of all our consultants.
Levels of Responsibility - Project Management
A career in backstopping may lead to the following levels of responsibility:
- Junior Project Officer - entry level for University graduates
- Project Officer
- Senior Project Officer
- Principal
- Partner
