Central and Eastern Europe/Commonwealth of Independent States

  • Central and Eastern Europe, CIS: Within a framework contract we assist the management the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Individual projects have been, among others:
    • Russian Federation: Preliminary technical, market and commercial assessment of an internet service provider;
    • Lithuania: Technical, market and commercial assessment of an internet project for an editing house specialised on providing city guides for various Eastern European countries;
  • Russian Federation/Kaliningrad: For a Russian company for computers and software PC&A developed a business plan and a new strategy aiming at expanding the business activities with regard to providing computer repair, software and system services.
  • Russian Federation/Kaliningrad: For a producer of bank equipment (coin counting machines, trim pressing and bag opening devices, trolley safes, banknote bag sealing devices, banknote counting machines) PC&A has been asked to elaborate a company development plan, to quantify the necessary funds and to approach and negotiate a possible joint-venture agreement with a Western European partner.


North Africa and Middle East

  • Jordan: Establishment of a marketing function for a Jordanian IT Manufacturing Company, including the development of a marketing plan with a marketing budget and the establishment of a client and competitor database.
  • Lebanon – Under the EuroMed Partnership agreement between Lebanon and the EU PC&A was asked to carry out a Business Analysis and Diagnostic Study of 60 Lebanese SMEs from various sectors in order to help them improve their competitive position and thus prepare for new opportunities and increased competition resulting from the EU-Lebanese Free Trade agreement. Among the sectors were Agro-Food; Textile; Furniture; Printing; Detergents; Construction; Marble and Glass; Packaging and IT
  • Morocco: Preparation of pre-diagnoses of several Moroccan SMEs. The objectives of the mission were to identify the problem areas where the follow-up assistance could have the highest leverage on increasing the competitiveness of the enterprise in order to adapt to the Free Trade Zone with the European Union. Among the companies analysed were: the only Moroccan supplier for geographical information systems and a leading software house in (a) ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) for medium-sized projects, (b) custom-made software and (c) manpower-leasing


Other regions

  • France: We assisted a French manufacturer of telecommunication products in the development and realisation of a competitive strategy in the sector of cellular telephones.
  • Germany: For an important German metal construction company, we analysed and evaluated the different tasks of its design centre, its relative cost position for each task, compared to competition, and the possibilities for using outside suppliers.
  • Japan: We analysed the product development systems of two Japanese companies and the techniques they utilised to reduce the development process.
  • Japan/USA: We assisted the personal computer division of a U.S. supplier to reduce its development cycles by competitive bench marking to Japanese competitors.
  • USA: After completing a competitive analysis covering every step of the value chain, we identified future success factors for midrange systems on behalf of a U.S. computer group.
  • USA/Western Europe: At request of a major U.S. Software company, we did market analyses for production process control software in Europe. We developed an appropriate marketing and sales strategy for these products.
  • We conducted a comparative study of four of the most important PC manufacturers, where we identified the world-wide earnings and the contribution of various geographic regions.
